I reached out to try and find a way to touch you
and saw the splash of a million mirror balls
darting like skater beetles across a dark pool,
until coming to rest above the still depths.
The soft shapes now a million faces,
each like the first, surfaces undisturbed,
revealed to me myself and took my breath away.
I listened to my own heart and began to learn
and understand my own beat and rhythm.

Gentler now, less hurried than before,
I am more ready to hear myself
and a million mirror balls melt back into one,
without need of heat or touch, command or even a sigh,
just the blink of a pulse
that comes from the heart.

You are to me as a jewel of quicksilver,
beauty unsurpassed and true,
not able to be fashioned for trivial display
but showering transparent pearls of truth
to any who dares find the courage
to listen to the impulses of there own heart.

You cannot be fashioned as most jewels to adorn,
but in your still presence,
you beckon others to take the courage to be still
and find a beauty of their own,
from which their own true selves are born.
