Another great poem below...
My Brother In You
Posted by Timothy Swearengin ® , Mon, Dec 04, 2000, 15:33:54

[ To my nephew Ethan in honor of his late uncle Barry ]

When I look into your eyes,
I see my Brother in you.
When I hold you in my arms,
Its as if he were here too.

When sadness had set upon our lives,
When hope was far from thought,
You came as a gift from God,
An angel to heal our hearts.

Whenever I see the world so dim,
Whenever I lose all faith.
I simply look into your eyes,
And in them I find grace.

Your presence has changed all of us,
Especially true of your Mother.
In our family you have taken place,
That of my little Brother.

He must live in you,
This I can only believe.
For the Lord had taken away,
Prepared us for our reprieve.

I am sad that you could not greet him,
For you would have loved him so.
Through me you will get to meet him,
My Brother you will come to know.

In this I will embrace you,
As an uncle and as a friend.
But mostly I embrace you,
As my little Brother to the end.
