A Soul So Sweet

"Why do I love you,
still after these years?"
When all was filled with loneliness,
solitude and tears?
Tears that fell so slowly,
upon the cold and morbid floor.
From a heart pleading for normal,
yet yearned and needed more.
From a soul so sweet yet bitter,
who's heart still had not gone cold.
From a life so filled yet lonely,
who had wanted just someone to hold.
From two eyes so soft yet icy,
that had wanted not to cry anymore.
From a girl so strong yet fragile,
who yearned for her life of "before".
When life was simple and easy,
and little things were just brushed away.
But her life led by this darkness,
held her down and made her stay.
Someone so strong and loving,
was suffering by this power.
Someone so soft and beautiful,
losing her "petals" like a flower.
"Why do I love you?"
Her soul asks so calm,
He's holding her heart,
in the core of his palm.
"Why do I love you?"
Her soul asks so sweet,
He's standing more proud,
and much harder to defeat.
He picks her up so swiftly,
and throws her to the ground.
And the answer to her question, still,
was nowhere to be found.
"Why do I love you?"
She asks so lovingly,
Then realizes that "I only do....
because you're letting me.
