From that moment we fell apart,
and we knew we were done for good,
I didnt think I would find another love,
I didnt think I could.

So I waited and waited,
for him to come to me,
for him to say it would be okay, together forever we should always be.

And when he didnt come back,
I didnt think I could get through,
I was almost sure, I'd be lonesome forever,
I was almost sure I knew.

And when you came in place of him,
at first I wasnt quite sure,
I didnt want to happen then,
what had happened to me before.

And when it did,
it broke my heart,
to see a strong man cry,
but when his love is taken away, he's not strong enough,
to survive.

But we took the smart way out,
and we talked things over then,
and we made a promise,
that in the future,
it would never happen again.

So when we talked we thought about, the great things we had lost,
and we knew we'd be together forever,
no matter what the cost.
